More fun and games for Paul, but of the wrong type. After his return to the N&N they forgot to arrange another ambulance to take him to Papworth for his operation which is still booked for midday today. They blue lighted him this morning, just in time to get him prepped. I sent our good wishes and said I would await news of his recovery.
In particuar, you could explore the rich history of Little and Great Plumstead, in the beautiful round tower Church of St Gervase and St Protase. Presentations and displays about the Church, the Hospital and Hall, the village and those commemorated in War memorials. Geoff Y, of Terry & Geoff Tours fame has been heavily involved in making this happen. The Walled Garden Men's Shed is next door.

Margaret Harker Hall are hosting an event entitled The Living History of 12 Blofield Villagers, with pictures, words & artefacts. Explore 102 years of recently discovered archives history. Find out who Margaret Harker was, & discover Blofield Tennis Club's 100 year past. Tea & Cake available. This is on the 19th & 20th 10:00 – 16:00 I expect our Angela H will be there.
Blofield church has seen worship and welcomed visitors since 1427 and next year celebrates its 600 years. It was enlarged in the 14th century from a previous, smaller, round towered church. It is the burial place of Edward of the famous Paston family. They are offering a chance to get on your knees and try rubbing stone memorials. Materials are supplied. A chance to enjoy the beauty of and tales behind our stained glass windows. Also Saturday 19th 10:00 – 16:00 or the 20th 14:00 – 16:00.
Finally just a reminder that the St Laurence Church Men's Group meet on 1st September at 7:30, with Rev Dave Hanson as the speaker. The subject “I never thought I'd be a Vicar” – a journey through Pakistan, North East England and Brundall.
